What is it like to be on a crew?

Give back to nature and your community! Wisconsin Conservation Corps crews are responsible for the gritty aspect of conservation. WCC sends crews to natural areas all over the Upper Midwest. Crews serve as a team to build trails, manage habitats, and complete carpentry projects on publicly accessible land. Crew Leaders and Crew Members get the chance to network with land management professionals, learn various land management techniques, and serve local communities while completing an AmeriCorps service term.

Participants spend the duration of their experience living, serving, and traveling together. Crews stay together during their non-project time to participate in recreational activities, take care of chores, or travel to their next project site. WCC operates crews during the summer (May through August) and fall (September through November). Participants may choose to complete a summer term, a fall term, or sign up for the entire field season (summer and fall).
